The debut album from the band whose name is taken from the last name of lead singer Johnny Van Zant (brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant and Donnie Van Zant). Essentially, it's a Johnny solo album, though a future album would be recorded with brother Donnie in the fold. For Lynyrd Skynyrd completists.

Van-Zant is great AOR, Hard Rock album leading by Johnny Van Zant, the brother of Donnie and the late Ronnie. This album is a lot different from Lynryd Skynrd and 38 Special which has an Melodic Rock to it and late 80s Hard Rock tune to it.
