Released in 1977, Summernights is the Hong Kong and Southeast Asian issue of the band's punchy Golden Girls LP, an album which again saw the band in the charts, a stellar feat for an act that history has essentially relegated to the one-hit-wonder heap. This is the long-awaited vinyl soundtrack from John Carpenter's masterpiece Assault on Precinct 13. It's one of his shortest scores, coming in at just over twenty-five minutes in length, and essentially has the same few musical themes and motifs recycled and reworked throughout. The recordings sound lo-fi and dirty, as if the synthesizers that Carpenter was using had grit inside of their circuitry.
