Norbert Schneider's new guitar instrumental album is a vibrant journey through blues, jazz, calypso, and a good dose of swagger. Across ten fresh tracks, the guitar takes the lead as a storyteller, supported by a top-notch ensemble that brings depth, warmth, and effortless groove to every moment.
Schneider's connection to the guitar runs deep. Although he began his musical life studying classical violin, he believed his path in music had come to an end when he eventually broke with his teacher. But everything changed when he picked up his sister's guitar--at first simply to accompany his singing and to write his own songs. That moment became the true beginning of his musical career, igniting a lifelong love for the instrument.
Despite what the album title might suggest, this is not a 'guitar hero' showcase. Instead, it is a genuine collective effort. Max Tschida on piano and Georg Schrattenholzer on trombone contribute wonderfully expressive solos, while Georg Buxhofer on double bass and Walter Sitz on drums create a rhythmic foundation that is sometimes hot, sometimes cool, but always warm and inviting. Over this rich and steady backdrop, Schneider's guitar is free to soar, to whisper, to groove, or simply to breathe--always with emotion, always with intention.
For Schneider, the guitar is more than an instrument; it is a companion and a voice of its own. This album stands as a testament to that relationship: a mature, heartfelt, and deeply musical work shaped by collaboration, intuition, and a profound love for sound.
