This is the long-awaited vinyl soundtrack from John Carpenter's masterpiece Assault on Precinct 13. It's one of his shortest scores, coming in at just over twenty-five minutes in length, and essentially has the same few musical themes and motifs recycled and reworked throughout. The recordings sound lo-fi and dirty, as if the synthesizers that Carpenter was using had grit inside of their circuitry.

Never meant for release, this proto-minimal synth masterpiece finally saw the light of day in the 21st century. John Carpenter somehow became the accidental king of minimal dark synth. This could have been a Gary Numan number, but it came before the young Gary had even thought of Tubeway Army.
