Despite suffering a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the waist down, - 's legendary drummer and percussionist who continued performing by his own unique playing style - joins forces with Masahiko Satoh, one of Japan's foremost pianists who has remained at the forefront of the scene since his 1969 debut Palladium, and bassist , a frequent collaborator of both musicians. Together they form the trio project , whose album was released in . Side A, titled “Sekiran” (Cumulonimbus), is a nearly 21-minute session in which fragmentary melodies born from free improvisation build up in layered formations, much like towering storm clouds. In sharp contrast, Side B's “A-Un”unfolds within an atmosphere of profound stillness, sustained by extended passages of pianissimo, until a dramatic final swell arrives.
